Considering the rising cost of airline flights, Vegas can be a cheap vacation if you plan ahead and do some research. One thing to remember is to have a clear idea of what you want to visit, how long you will stay in Vegas, and which hotel you are going to stay at. If you have a clear idea of these questions, then your getaway to Las Vegas will unquestionably be one to remember.

As far as Las Vegas flights are concerned, this may take up most of your time to find the best price. Many airlines have been cutting down their flights recently, due in part to the financial and fuel issue in the United States. You might consider comparing travel packages from some different companies; a good example of these types of packages could be hotel + flight + car rental for a specific price. You may find in some cases that it is less expensive to purchase these separately. The cost difference you may find could be big.

One tip that you may find beneficial is to sign up for e-mail alerts from the Vegas hotels and airlines you are interested in. You will receive an e-mail when their best deals are available around two months ahead of time. Also make sure that if you have already reserved a Vegas hotel room, continue to check the prices that they are offering until the day of your hotel stay. The rates could drop so if you see a rate less expensive than the one you booked for, talk to the hotel about giving a discount.

Remember that there are fewer visitors to Vegas nowadays, so the hotels and flights to Vegas are looking to attract your business. Today is the day to get online and book a flight and hotel to Las Vegas.

Along with the huge success of the Tao Las Vegas at the Venetian Resort, the owners of this night-time hotspot are opening a brand new Roman/Mediterranean designed eatery called Lavo located in the Palazzo hotel resort. This radical plan is designed after the Roman bathhouses of ancient times. A great deal of effort has been put into the historical accuracy of this Vegas restaurant and into the tiny details as well.

This Vegas restaurant can hold 300 people and includes a menu full of Mediterranean cuisine. Their menu is intended to encourage the sharing of appetizers and small servings, as opposed to large one-person plates. The restaurant part also has an outdoor veranda which can seat 100 guests and overlooks the notorious Sin City Strip.

The nightclub part includes a state of the art audio and video system while live DJs will be on hand to entertain the crowd. The nightclub stays open six nights a week opening its doors at 10:00 pm and closing approximately at 5 am. What the nightclub doesn’t have is a VIP section, which the owners say is to have a more shared feeling.

Lavo always has lots of eye candy for the guests (especially the male guests). On hand is a model constantly bathing herself in the restaurant, female dancers, and other models acting out different historical scenarios. On the veranda, you will find a stock of hookahs with a “hookah master” helping you make the best choice.

This nightclub/restaurant is administered by the same team that opened Tao Las Vegas in the Venetian Resort in 2005. Ever since the unveiling of this nightclub it has been one of the trendiest clubs in Sin City, frequented mostly by celebs. Along with the Tao Asian Bistro and Tao Beach, these have been the highest earning destinations in the U.S. since 2006.

This new space will definitely be a huge draw for The Palazzo Vegas. You can already find 3000 luxury suites, high class shopping stores, and Las Vegas’ best restaurants and nightlife. Some other spaces in The Palazzo include rapper Jay-Z´s 40/40 Club, Canyon Ranch SpaClub, a massive Barneys New York even a Lamborghini dealership can be visited in The Palazzo Las Vegas.

In spite of the fact that all the large Sin City hotel casinos are doing their best to attract more Vegas tourists this year with rebates and vouchers, their slot machine business is dropping. And seeing that Sin City slot machine business creates about two thirds of Sin City’s profits, it’s not such great news for the casino hotels.

According to the Gaming Control Board, Las Vegas gamblers wagered $1.1 billion less in slot machines than last year. Slot machines on The Strip are down half a billion dollars. This stands for a drop of 12% compared to 2007. With drivers paying more than $4 per gallon for gas, gamblers are really having to save money nowadays. On the other hand with the cost of gasoline going down, these numbers might change in the near future.

Las Vegas casinos aren’t really worried about this plunge in slot machine revenues, the latest reports show that table game play is actually going up. On The Strip the volume for Vegas table games is up 5 percent, with baccarat play up 15 percent and blackjack on the rise at 7 percent. This might seem like good news but, the truth is that Strip casinos took in 21 percent less in July because of some lucky gamblers as well as gamblers winning a larger percentage than typical.

The famous saying, “The house always wins”, could be a thing of the past. But as these reports tell us, Sin City hotel casinos are are finding it more difficult to make a profit than before. This might be the best time for Vegas gamblers to start cashing in their casino coupons, taking advantage of discounts, and using their frequent flyer miles. With the Sin City hotel casinos having a run of bad luck, this could be the most convenient moment for you to visit some of Vegas’ most popular casinos.
